Plan a Session for TwoSome are on honeymoon. Some are marking ten years, or twenty. Some booked a week in Cancún, realised the only photographs of the two of them together in five years are phone selfies at arm's length, and decided to fix it. All of those are the same session, and none of them need a reason.
An hour is enough. It is short enough that nobody gets tired of being photographed and long enough to move between two settings while the light is still good. We direct throughout, because almost nobody knows what to do with their hands, and the direction is the part that makes the photographs look like you rather than like a catalogue.
Same hour, same direction, same delivery. What changes is the setting and what we are actually photographing.
The first week. Usually the resort beach at sunrise, before anyone else is out and while the sand is still raked.
Five, ten, twenty five years. Couples who have been photographed badly at every family event and never once well, together.
No occasion. You are here, the water is that colour, and there is no photograph of the two of you that either of you likes.
Already engaged and planning the wedding elsewhere. A relaxed hour here beats a posed studio at home.
Photographed from a distance, then a session immediately after when the answer is yes. That has its own page because the planning is different.
A gown, a suit, a second wearing of something that only got worn once. The coast handles it well and the hour matters more than the outfit.
The easiest and the least disruptive. No transport, no schedule, and the walk back to your room takes two minutes. Most sessions start here.
Long open stretches with the Caribbean behind you and no buildings in the frame. Best in the last ninety minutes of light.
Freshwater, limestone and light falling through an opening in the rock. Cool, quiet, and the opposite of the beach in every way. Worth the drive inland.
Twenty minutes by ferry. Playa Norte is the one beach nearby that faces west, so it is where a sunset session actually gets a sunset.
A small fishing town half an hour south, with a leaning lighthouse and no resorts on the sand. Quieter than anywhere in Cancún.
Behind the hotels, the Nichupté lagoon faces west. Mangrove, still water and the sunset the beach cannot give you.
Cancún stays on Eastern Standard Time all year, so these hours hold in December and in July with barely any change.
Empty beach, freshly cleaned sand, cool air and the sun coming out of the water in front of you. It costs you one early alarm on holiday and it is the best light of the day.
The sun has dropped behind the hotels and the beach sits in open shade with bright water in front. Comfortable, and the easiest hour to actually get out of the room for.
The sky over the lagoon holds colour after the beach goes dark. Short, and worth staying for.

It is the normal starting point, and it is the part of the job we are actually paid for. You are directed the whole way, so there is no moment where you are left standing there deciding what to do.
One hour covers it, usually across two settings. Longer sessions exist but most couples find an hour is where it stops being fun.
Most often your own resort beach, because it is simple. Cenotes, Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos and the lagoon side are all options and we will tell you which suits your dates.
