We shoot the whole day.

We chase the hour.

We work in silence.

Three-day delivery.

The day in seven hours

Rehearsal to last dance.

  1. 09:00

    Getting ready.

Bride and groom suites. Dress in the window light. The morning before the morning.

  2. 13:00

    First look.

A private moment before the ceremony. No audience yet. Just the two of you and the camera.

  3. 16:00

    Ceremony.

Vows, rings, the walk. Two shooters, editorial coverage. We don't direct the moment, we read it.

  4. 17:30

    Cocktail hour.

Family portraits. The room finding itself. We work fast so you can be present.

  5. 18:30

    Golden hour.

Twenty minutes of the right light. The portraits we plan the whole day around.

  6. 19:30

    Reception & dinner.

Speeches, toasts, the first cut of cake. Candid, never posed.

  7. 21:00

    First & last dance.

The night in its own light. We stay until the floor is full and then a little longer.

Why the Studio

A wedding day is composed, not staged.

The studio is built for the calm of a luxury resort wedding. We arrive early, learn the room, work the light, and leave the day intact. What we deliver is an editorial archive that ages well, not a busy gallery that ages out.

The Studio in Numbers 120+ Weddings, since 2019
Year-round Range 3 Coastlines, year after year
Color Discipline 1 Signature tone, every frame
01 / Light

Golden hour, only

We build every timeline backward from sunset. Ceremony at the right hour, portraits at the right ten minutes, reception lit so it reads cinematic, not flat.

02 / Tone

Editorial, not loud

One signature color grade across the gallery. Skin tones honest. Whites kept white. Frames you would put on the wall before you would post them.

03 / Voice

Bilingual, always

Spanish for the resort coordinator and the family. English for the couple and the planner. Nothing is lost between the kitchen door and the aisle.

04 / Pace

Calm, by design

The team moves like one breath. No cameras in the bride's face. No competing for angles with the videographer. The photo team is part of the ceremony, never the show.

Vianey Díaz.

Every wedding is shot the way I would shoot my own. One signature tone across the gallery, one director on the day, one studio answering email from the first inquiry to the final archive. The standard does not change between forty guests and three days.

We do not write packages. We write briefs.

Each archive is delivered in a hand-numbered linen box. Proof prints, a USB, and a lay-flat album bound at a press in Mexico City.

Four weddings, four rooms.

A bride photographed at golden hour in the Cancún Hotel Zone
Cancún Hotel Zone · Hotel Esencia · March 2026

Sixty guests, three languages, one east-facing cove. The breeze came in just hard enough to lift the veil and not enough to lift the sand. Ceremony at five. The light held.

A bride on a Cancún beach
Cancún · Playa Delfines · January 2026

A first look the morning of, before anyone else had touched the dress. The bride asked for sand still cool from the night. We walked north for an hour and found the cove empty.

A wedding portrait in Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas · Waldorf Astoria Pedregal · November 2025

The Pacific does not announce itself. It arrives. We waited for the sun to drop behind the rocks and shot the procession through the gap as the light turned the sandstone into gold leaf.

A bride at blue hour after the ceremony
Cancún · Hotel Zone Terrace · December 2025

The last block, after the toasts. Lanterns coming on along the terrace. The bride had taken off her shoes an hour earlier. This is the frame she writes us about a year later.

We do not just photograph the wedding. We compose it. The day is read like a film, and the team moves through it like one breath.

Such a great photographer. She made it feel relaxed and comfortable. Quality was great. Communication was great. One of our best memories in Cancun for sure.

I cannot recommend IVAE Studios enough. From the initial contact until the photos were delivered the communication and customer service was outstanding. My husband and I visited Cancun for our 10 year anniversary and wanted some photos.

Oh my goodness, if you are in the area IVAE Studios is the most amazing. We had so much fun at our photoshoot. We are somewhat awkward in front of the camera, but Vianey did excellent posing us and making us feel comfortable.

Where the studio works

Three coastlines, one studio.

From the Caribbean to the Pacific, the editorial discipline travels with the studio.

Worldwide. By private commission.

Based in the Riviera Maya. Available wherever you marry.

IVAE Studios photographs and films destination weddings from a base in Cancún and the Riviera Maya, and we travel for celebrations beyond Mexico. Tell us where you are getting married and we build the journey around it.

We welcome discerning couples traveling from New York, Miami, Toronto, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and Europe to marry in Mexico's luxury resorts, and we are available worldwide to the same families for the weddings that follow. Coverage is offered by private commission so that one studio carries your day from the first inquiry to the final archive.

Welcoming couples from New York, Miami, Toronto, Los Angeles, Mexico City, and across Europe.

No. 01

Discretion, by default

A private studio, named guest lists, and a presence that protects the privacy of your family and your guests.

No. 02

A calm editorial presence

At large, multi-day celebrations the studio stays unhurried. We read the room and step in only where the light asks for us.

No. 03

Photo and film, one team

When film is added it shares a single creative direction with the photography, so the day is told in one voice.

No. 04

Full destination coverage

Welcome dinners, the ceremony, the celebration, and the morning after, planned around the destination and its light.

A specialty within the studio is the Jewish destination wedding, photographed with the customs and the timeline understood in advance. To discuss a wedding in Mexico or abroad, begin a conversation with the Director.

Considered Questions

The questions couples ask most often.

Every wedding is custom and quoted in conversation. The studio does not publish packages. Each brief is shaped around your dates, venue, hours, and whether video is added. Final investment varies with scope and travel. Every brief includes a private 4K gallery, unlimited downloads, print rights, and bilingual service.

Yes. Every wedding the studio takes is shot by Vianey Díaz, the Director. The agreement carries a substitution clause: if a force majeure event prevents her from being on the day, the full retainer is returned, in writing, no negotiation.

Rain is part of the beauty of tropical destinations. We scout indoor backups thirty days before your date. Afternoon showers in Mexico are typically twenty to forty minutes, and the most romantic frames often arrive the moment the rain clears and the sky fills with saturated color.

A teaser of fifteen to twenty editorial frames within ten days. The complete edited gallery in three to four weeks. When a cinematic film is commissioned, it follows within eight weeks. Each delivery window is written into your agreement.

Eight to fourteen months before your wedding date, especially for peak season (November through April). Popular Saturdays at Rosewood Mayakoba, One & Only Palmilla, Four Seasons Costa Palmas, and Las Ventanas often book twelve to eighteen months out. For cenote ceremonies in Tulum, plan an additional two to three months for permit logistics.

A half-day delivers roughly 300 to 400 edited frames, a full day 600 to 900, depending on the day's rhythm. Every image is hand color graded and delivered as a high resolution full size JPEG through a private 4K gallery, with unlimited downloads and a print release included.

Coverage is shaped to your day. The half-day brief runs up to four hours, ideal for an intimate ceremony and golden hour portraits. Full day coverage runs eight to ten continuous hours, from morning preparations through the reception, so the entire arc of the celebration is photographed without gaps.

A second photographer is included in the full day brief and available as an add on for the half day. The second shooter captures the groom's preparations, wide reception scenes, and reverse angles during the ceremony, giving the gallery two perspectives on every key moment of the day.

Yes. An engagement or pre-wedding session is one of our favorite ways to work together before the day. It is shot at a cenote, beach, or resort of your choosing, lets you grow comfortable in front of the camera, and produces images for save the dates and welcome signage.

November through April is peak season, with dry skies, gentle humidity, and the cleanest water. Sargassum seaweed is most likely from May to August, and hurricane season runs June through November. We plan timelines and backup locations around these windows so the light and the coastline both cooperate.

Some resorts apply an outside vendor fee when you bring a photographer who is not on their in house list. We work at these properties regularly and help you confirm the policy early, so the fee, if any, is budgeted from the start rather than discovered at checkout.

Photography is the studio's core craft. A cinematic film is available by inquiry, produced with our filmmaking partners and confirmed during planning rather than offered as a stock package. Drone aerials can be arranged where the venue and local regulations permit, and we coordinate the permissions on your behalf.

A retainer of fifty percent reserves your date and is due on signing, with the balance payable two weeks before the wedding. We accept cards, bank transfer, and US dollars or Mexican pesos. The retainer holds your date exclusively, so no other booking can claim it once it is paid.

We are based in Cancún and travel across the Riviera Maya, Tulum, Isla Mujeres, and Los Cabos as part of every brief. For weddings beyond these regions, a transparent travel fee covers flights and lodging, quoted up front in your proposal with no surprises added later.

The full retainer is transferable to a new wedding date within twelve months at no penalty. After twelve months, it converts to partial credit toward a studio session or a future wedding. Force majeure clauses for hurricane, government order, or a documented medical event are written into the agreement.

Beyond the Ceremony

The celebrations around the wedding

A wedding is rarely a single day, and it does not have to be a large one. For an intimate two person elopement, the welcome party, the rehearsal dinner, a private celebration, or a vow renewal years on, the studio brings the same editorial eye to every gathering. For couples planning a chuppah on the sand, we also offer dedicated Jewish destination wedding photography across Cancún, Riviera Maya, and Los Cabos.
