Secrets Playa Blanca is quiet, adults-only and set apart at the northern end of Costa Mujeres, which already solves half of a proposal: privacy. The other half is choosing the place and the minute. Here is how we plan it.

Rooftop or Beach
The rooftop terrace in the jungle is our first choice. It is high, surrounded by green and catches the warm western light late in the day, while the beach below is already in shade. It is also a wedding venue, so ask the front desk or the Secrets concierge whether it is free at your time, and whether a simple decoration can be arranged.
The beach is wide and open here, with the Caribbean ahead and Isla Mujeres off to the southeast. Walk away from the bars and pools so that other guests stay behind the photographer, and stop at a marker we agree in advance. The light at the end of the day is soft and even, with no glare in your faces.
The Right Minute
We plan the question for about 25 minutes before sunset. Times for this beach on the 15th of each month in 2027:

Hiding, Access and After the Yes
Our photographer checks in as your guest and waits at a terrace table or on a beach lounger with a long lens, 20 to 40 metres away. We agree three signals: a message when you leave the suite, the marker where you stop, and the moment you turn your partner around. For access, the photographer's name goes on your reservation; a short private session for a staying guest is very seldom charged the outside vendor fee used for weddings, but we confirm it with the resort in writing.
After the yes we take 20 to 40 minutes of portraits on the rooftop and the beach.
