Where We Shoot
The jungle rooftop terrace. Greenery, height and warm light from the west late in the day: the best place to start, while the beach is still bright. When it is not booked for a wedding, it gives frames that look nothing like a typical beach session.
The infinity pool terrace. Clean lines and water that seems to run into the sea. We use it for a few graphic, modern portraits, ideally at a quiet hour when the pool is empty.
The beach. Wide, open and quiet at the edges of the day. The sun sets behind the resort, so the shoreline falls into soft, even light at the end of the session, perfect for walking frames and close portraits.

From this northern spot, Isla Mujeres sits off to the southeast, so the sun rises over open sea all year. A sunrise session gives a clean horizon and an empty beach; a sunset session gives soft light on the sand and a deep blue sea. We start evening sessions about an hour before sunset. Adding Isla Blanca
A few minutes north by road, Isla Blanca is a long strip of sand between the Caribbean and the Chacmuchuch lagoon, mostly visited by kitesurfers. With almost no buildings, it gives a wild, open look that contrasts beautifully with the resort. We add it to longer sessions, usually Visual Story at 90 minutes, travelling there by car. Bring flat shoes and expect wind.

For the resort alone, Essential Flow at 60 minutes is the usual choice; add Isla Blanca with Visual Story at 90 minutes. As a staying guest, give the front desk the photographer's name and the session time in advance.
