Montage Los Cabos sits on Santa María Bay, one of the few calm, swimmable bays in Los Cabos, with 122 rooms and suites. For families it means children can be in the water during the session; for weddings, the Ocean Lawn and the beach on the bay hold up to about 350 guests, and the Arroyo Lawn about 40. Sessions start at 245 USD plus travel; wedding coverage starts at 1,800 USD.
Santa María Bay is a horseshoe of calm water between rocky headlands, and Montage is built around it. For photographs the bay does something rare in Los Cabos: it lets people get into the water. That changes a family session completely, and it gives weddings a beach that is as good to look at as to swim in.

The Bay
The bay faces south, protected by rocky points on both sides, and the water is usually calm and shallow near the shore. For a family session, that means children in the water, splashing and laughing instead of standing still on the sand; for couples, waist-deep portraits with the headlands behind. We start on the sand in the late afternoon and move to the rocks at the ends of the beach as the light warms.
Wedding Venues
Montage lists three outdoor wedding spaces: the Ocean Lawn over the bay for up to about 350 guests, the Arroyo Lawn for small ceremonies of about 40, and the beach on Santa María Bay for up to about 350. For photographs, a ceremony on the Ocean Lawn with the bay behind the altar, then portraits down on the beach in the last light, is the plan we would choose.

Times for Santa María Bay on the 15th of each month in 2027. Baja California Sur keeps Pacific time all year (UTC-7, no daylight saving), the same as Alberta in winter.

For sessions we meet about an hour before sunset: around 4:35 pm in December and 6:05 pm in June. A ceremony 90 minutes before sunset lands around 4:05 pm in December and 5:35 pm in June.
Access and Vendors
For a private session, register the photographer with the front desk as your guest. Like every beach in Mexico, the sand of Santa María Bay is public, but the resort's lawns and terraces follow its own rules. Weddings are coordinated through the resort's events team, which sets the policy for outside vendors; ask for it in writing.
