Cabo del Sol is one of the gated resort communities of the Corridor, roughly halfway between the marina of Cabo San Lucas and the airport side of the peninsula. Santa María Bay, one of the calm snorkeling bays of Los Cabos, is a few minutes away by car, which makes a good second location for a day-after session.
Wedding Venues
The resort's beach venue is the draw for large weddings: wedding sites list it for ceremonies of several hundred guests, with cocktail hour and dinner possible on the sand. Terraces and indoor halls cover smaller ceremonies and rainy-day backups, and the resort also offers a Mayan-ritual ceremony alongside its standard packages. Where We Take Portraits
We use the resort's height. The terraces and pool decks look down over the beach and the sea, which gives wide, layered frames with the water filling the background. Down on the sand, the beach works for the first look and family photos in the softer light of late afternoon. The golf course greens next door add a lush, open setting that surprises guests who expect only desert.

A good rule here: start the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, and keep the final half hour of daylight for portraits. Here that is around 4:05 pm in December and 5:35 pm in June. Winter evenings in Los Cabos cool quickly once the sun goes down, so tell guests to bring a light layer for the reception.

What does it cost? Half-day coverage, up to four hours, is 1,800 to 2,800 USD. The full day, eight to ten hours with two photographers, is 3,500 to 5,500 USD, the right choice for larger weddings.
