The beach faces east toward the channel and Isla Mujeres, so the sun sets behind the resort and the sand falls into soft, even light at the end of the day, with no glare in anyone's eyes. A good rule here: start the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, and keep the final half hour of daylight for portraits. Mornings have a bonus: from roughly November through January, the sun comes up from behind Isla Mujeres, across the water.
