Holbox is one of the best places in Mexico for a honeymoon session: no cars, no crowds at sunset and shallow water that turns the whole frame pale blue. The plan we like is a short walk through the village, the sandbar at low tide and the sunset at Punta Cocos, about 60 to 75 minutes in all. November through April is the most reliable season. Sessions start at 245 USD plus travel.
Honeymooners come to Holbox for the same reason they rarely leave their hammock: it is slow, quiet and impossibly pale blue. A session here should feel like the trip, not interrupt it.
The Session Plan
We start in the village, with a few frames on the sand streets and painted walls while you settle in front of the camera. Then the beach: if the tide is low, we walk out onto a sandbar, with shallow water on both sides and nothing in the frame but the two of you and the sky. We finish at Punta Cocos, the western tip, as the sun sets over the water.

We meet about 75 minutes before sunset: around 4:55 pm in December and 6:15 pm in June.
What to Wear
Light, flowing fabrics in white, sand, pale blue or soft pastels look best against Holbox's water. Bare feet on the sandbar, sandals for the village. Afternoon wind is common in winter, so a dress with some weight moves beautifully without flying away. Our couples outfit guide has examples.
When to Go
November through April is the most reliable stretch. In winter, cold fronts from the north can bring a few windy, cooler days; we keep a second evening free in case. Mid May to mid September is whale shark season and the island's busiest time, and September and October are the wettest months.
