Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort is set to open in December 2026 in Puerto Cancún, a gated marina community at the start of the Hotel Zone, as the first Grand Hyatt in Cancún and a fully all-inclusive resort. It has 500 rooms, nine pools, a private beach club and about 30,000 square feet of indoor event space, including a Great Ballroom that divides into eight. Sessions start at 245 USD; wedding coverage starts at 1,800 USD.
A new resort is exciting and a little uncertain at the same time: the renderings are beautiful, but nobody has photographed a wedding there yet. This guide collects what Hyatt has announced about Grand Hyatt Cancún, what it means for photos and the questions we would ask before booking a wedding or a session there.

Weddings: What the Venues Suggest
Hyatt describes about 30,000 square feet of flexible indoor event space on a single level, a Great Ballroom that can be divided into eight sections, two breakout rooms and a boardroom, plus terraces, beach venues and poolside settings. That is the profile of a resort that can host both an intimate ceremony and a wedding of well over a hundred guests.
For photos, the combination we would look for is a beach or terrace ceremony in the late afternoon and a ballroom or terrace reception after dark. A single-level event space also makes the night easier to photograph, because guests, speeches and the dance floor stay close together. Photoshoots: Art, Marina and Beach
Grand Hyatt Cancún opens with an installation by the artist Teresa Solar at the entrance and tiles designed by María Pizarro throughout the property, both of which promise strong, graphic backgrounds for editorial portraits. Every room has a terrace, and some suites have private pools. Puerto Cancún adds a marina, with yachts and sailing trips that make a memorable setting for a couple or a proposal, and the private beach club has its own pool and restaurant.
Puerto Cancún sits at the northern start of the Hotel Zone, on the calm Bahía de Mujeres rather than the open sea, so the water is usually gentle. We would plan the beach part of a session for the golden hour and keep the art and architecture for the softer light just before.
Families
With a Grand Kids Club, nine pools and suites with private pools, the resort is clearly designed for families as well as couples. - The opening date, in writing, and what happens to your booking if it moves.
- Which venue for which size: the capacity of each terrace, beach area and ballroom section.
