- Published delivery time. Does the studio commit publicly to when you receive your finished gallery?
- Declared specialty and coverage. What the studio itself says it does and where, in its own words.
- Volume policy. Does the studio state how much work it takes on, which determines how much attention your session gets?
- Verifiable public rating. A rating you can check yourself on Google, not a testimonial wall the studio curates.
On the last criterion we will only quote our own number, because it is the only one we can keep current: IVAE Studios holds a 5.0 rating from 63 Google reviews, and you can verify it on our Google listing. If you are not hiring a named studio: the three tiers
Beyond named studios, almost everyone offering photography in Cancún falls into one of three tiers, and prices run from $200 to $8,000+ USD for what looks, on a website, like the same beach. Knowing the tiers keeps you from paying tier-one prices for tier-three structure.
1. The independent editorial studio
A small team working only with international visitors at luxury properties. Sessions scheduled for the best light, every image hand-edited with a consistent visual language, explicit bilingual direction, backup gear, insurance, and a documented process from inquiry to delivery. Highest investment of the three because the studio is liable for the result.
2. The resort in-house photographer
Every major Cancún resort partners with a photo concession. Convenient, often bundled into wedding or honeymoon packages, but built on volume: the same team typically covers three to six sessions a day, which forces midday scheduling, a single house style, and delivery in 2 to 4 weeks or more. Final files are often watermarked or low-resolution unless you upgrade.
3. The freelance budget photographer
Found through Instagram DMs and Facebook groups. Low price, informal energy, fine for casual lifestyle content. The trade-off is structural: usually no second camera body, no insurance, no contract, and delivery times from days to several weeks with no guarantee of weather backups.
How IVAE Studios is different
We do one thing, editorial luxury photography in Cancún, Riviera Maya and Los Cabos, and we built the studio around it. Every session is scheduled in golden hour. Every image is individually edited.
