For photos, the beach is the star: from here Isla Mujeres is close across the channel, and the Cancún skyline sits on the horizon, a view no other resort on this shore has.
Large suites and penthouses also make excellent getting-ready locations, with room for the whole wedding party and natural light from the terraces.

From Punta Sam the beach looks across the channel to Isla Mujeres, and the sun sets behind the resort, so the shoreline gets soft, even light at the end of the day. Plan the ceremony for roughly 90 minutes before sunset; the portraits then land in the softest light of the day. Mornings have a bonus: from roughly February through October, the sun comes up from behind Isla Mujeres, across the water.
Bringing Your Own Photographer
Like most all-inclusive resorts on this coast, Villa del Palmar Cancún charges outside wedding photographers for access, either as a vendor fee or as a per-person day pass, and the amount changes by season and package. Ask for the exact figure in writing before you sign, and ask whether it applies per vendor or per person, because a photographer and a second shooter are two people.
