Riu Palace Las Américas is an adults-only Riu Palace at Punta Cancún, with white neoclassical architecture between the bay and the open sea. The best light is the hour before sunset; families with toddlers do better at sunrise. Sessions from 245 USD.
Whether you are a couple, a family or three generations together, a session at Riu Palace Las Américas works best when the hour and the spot are chosen for this beach. Here is our plan.
The Session at a Glance
- HotelAdults-only, Riu Palace category, at Punta Cancún
- Beach facesThe corner of Punta Cancún: the bay on one side, the open Caribbean on the other
Where We Shoot
The architecture. White columns and terraces give elegant frames when the sun is strong.
The water's edge. We always finish at the shoreline, away from the pools and loungers, where the background is only sea and sky.
Nearby. Nearby public beaches such as Playa Gaviota Azul and Playa Chac Mool give an open-sea setting a few minutes' walk away.

How the Photographer Gets In
Access is simple for guests of Riu Palace Las Américas. Put the photographer's name on your reservation at the front desk with the time of the session, and we meet you in the lobby. Resorts usually reserve their outside vendor fee for weddings, so a private session for a staying guest is very seldom charged, though we always confirm the current rule in writing first. Visitors who are not staying at the resort normally need a day pass; this guide explains how it works.
Sessions in the Cancún Hotel Zone, Through Our Lens
Real IVAE Studios sessions on the beaches of the Cancún Hotel Zone. They show our work in the area, not necessarily at Riu Palace Las Américas.
