Omni Cancún Wedding Photographer: Venues, Light and Timing

In short

Omni Cancún Hotel & Villas is an all-inclusive with villa rooms in the southern Hotel Zone, on the open Caribbean. Plan the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset and keep the last half hour of light for portraits.

Omni Cancún sits in the southern Hotel Zone, near Playa Delfines and Punta Nizuc, and that location shapes a wedding more than any decoration: it decides where the sun is during your vows and what is behind you in every frame. This guide covers the ceremony options, the light and the questions to ask before you sign.

The Resort at a Glance

Venue names and capacities come from the resort's wedding listings and change with renovations and packages, so your coordinator's current sheet is the final word.

Where the Ceremony Happens

Omni Cancún hosts weddings, and its wedding team will give you the current list of ceremony and reception spaces, which changes with renovations and packages. On this coast the best ceremony spot is almost always on the sand or on a raised terrace facing the sea, with the pools and loungers out of the frame.

When you see the options, ask three things: which way the aisle faces, where the sun will be at your ceremony time, and how far the reception is from the ceremony. Short walks keep family photos inside the golden light. Playa Delfines, the big public beach with the CANCÚN sign and high dunes, is close by for a second setting, and the El Rey archaeological site sits across the road from it.

The southern Hotel Zone faces east onto the open Caribbean, with the widest beaches of Cancún. The sun sets behind the hotel, so the sand gets soft, even light at the end of the day, while the Nichupté lagoon across the road catches the sunset over water. A good rule here: start the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, and keep the final half hour of daylight for portraits.

Bringing Your Own Photographer

Like most all-inclusive resorts on this coast, Omni Cancún charges outside wedding photographers for access, either as a vendor fee or as a per-person day pass, and the amount changes by season and package. Ask for the exact figure in writing before you sign, and ask whether it applies per vendor or per person, because a photographer and a second shooter are two people. We send our insurance and identification paperwork to your coordinator ourselves. Our guide to outside photographers at resorts explains how these charges work.

Coverage and Prices

What does it cost? Half-day coverage, up to four hours, is 1,800 to 2,800 USD. The full day, eight to ten hours with two photographers, is 3,500 to 5,500 USD, the right choice for larger weddings. With a wedding film added, 5,500 to 8,000 USD. We deliver every wedding gallery within one to three business days, not the weeks or months that are common elsewhere.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can you get married at Omni Cancún?
Omni Cancún hosts weddings; ask its wedding team for the current ceremony and reception spaces and their capacities. For photos, a spot on the sand or a terrace facing the sea, away from the pools, works best.
What time is best for a wedding at Omni Cancún?
Start the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, so that portraits fall in the warm last light. Sunset here ranges from 6:06 pm in mid-winter to 7:32 pm in mid-summer, and Quintana Roo does not use daylight saving.
Does Omni Cancún charge for an outside wedding photographer?
Expect an access charge for outside wedding vendors, as a vendor fee or a per-person day pass, which the resort revises by season and package. Ask for the amount in writing before you sign, and ask whether it applies per vendor or per person.
How much does IVAE Studios charge for a wedding at Omni Cancún?
Half-day coverage of up to four hours is 1,800 to 2,800 USD, a full day of eight to ten hours with a second photographer is 3,500 to 5,500 USD, and coverage with a wedding film is 5,500 to 8,000 USD. The resort's vendor charge is separate.
