Wedding video is priced on five things, and once you see them the quotes stop looking random. Hours of coverage is the first: a ceremony and golden hour is a different job from a full day with getting ready, first look, ceremony, portraits and the party. The second is crew. One operator can cover a ceremony; a reception with a first dance, toasts and the whole dance floor needs a second camera or you lose half the story. Third is drone. Most couples marrying in Cancún want the highlight film first and the full edit as an archive. Ask which one a quote includes, because the word film means both, and the difference in editing hours is large.
Resort videographers and outside vendor fees
Most all-inclusive resorts in Cancún and the Riviera Maya have an in-house video vendor and charge an outside vendor fee if you bring your own. The fee varies by property and it is worth asking for it in writing before you decide, because it changes the math: sometimes the in-house option is genuinely competitive for a short ceremony edit, and sometimes the fee is small next to the difference in the final film.
