Cabo Surf Hotel is a boutique hotel of about 36 rooms on Playa Acapulquito, near Costa Azul and San José del Cabo, on one of the best surf beaches in the area. Couples often book the whole hotel for a relaxed wedding weekend. Expect barefoot ceremonies, surfboards in the background and two infinity pools over the water. Wedding coverage starts at 1,800 USD.
Not every Los Cabos wedding needs a ballroom. Cabo Surf Hotel is small enough to book entirely, informal enough for a barefoot ceremony and right on a beach where people surf at sunset. It photographs like a weekend with friends, which is exactly the point.

A Buyout Weekend
With so few rooms, couples often take the whole hotel: guests in every room, a welcome dinner by the pools, the ceremony on the terrace or the sand and a party that nobody has to leave. For photographs we cover it like a story of the weekend, with the surfers, the pools and the beach as recurring characters. The waves here are for surfing, so we keep the wedding party on the sand.

Times for Playa Acapulquito on the 15th of each month in 2027. Baja California Sur keeps Pacific time all year (UTC-7, no daylight saving), the same as Alberta in winter.

A good rule here: start the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, and keep the final half hour of daylight for portraits. That is around 4:05 pm in December and 5:35 pm in June; for a session we meet about an hour before sunset, around 4:35 pm in December and 6:05 pm in June.
Planning and Vendors
For a private session, register the photographer at the front desk as your guest, with the time of the session, a day or two ahead. Weddings are coordinated with the resort's wedding team, which sets the rules for outside vendors and any access fee; ask for them in writing before you sign.

Coverage and Prices
What does it cost? Half-day coverage, up to four hours, is 1,800 to 2,800 USD. The full day, eight to ten hours with two photographers, is 3,500 to 5,500 USD, the right choice for larger weddings. With a wedding film added, 5,500 to 8,000 USD. We deliver every wedding gallery within one to three business days, not the weeks or months that are common elsewhere.
