Acre Baja: A Photographer's Guide to Weddings in the Mango Orchard and Treehouses of San José del Cabo

In short

Acre is a farm and treehouse resort on about 25 acres in the foothills of San José del Cabo, known for its mango orchard, its palm grove and its farm-to-table food. It is the opposite of a beach wedding: shade, greenery and filtered light, with ceremonies from very small to about 350 guests. Many couples pair it with a beach session another day. Wedding coverage starts at 1,800 USD.

Acre is the Los Cabos wedding for couples who do not want a resort. You drive inland from San José, through a gate, and into a grove of palms and mango trees with treehouses, a restaurant built around the kitchen garden and long tables under string lights. It photographs beautifully, but differently from the coast, and the plan should reflect that.

Acre at a Glance

The property mixes a working farm with a restaurant, a bar and a dozen or so treehouses raised among the palms. Wedding sources consistently list the mango orchard for celebrations of up to about 350 guests, with smaller rooms and tables for welcome dinners and intimate gatherings. Confirm the current spaces and capacities with Acre directly.

The Orchard and the Spaces

The mango orchard is where most large Acre weddings happen: a ceremony aisle between the trees, then long tables in the same grove as the light fades. The palm grove gives tall vertical lines and dappled shade for portraits. The treehouses, with their wood decks and open sides, are a natural place for getting-ready photos and a quiet first look, if your party is staying in them.

Light Under the Trees

Under the canopy, the light is filtered all afternoon, which is generous for faces and forgiving for guests in the sun. The risk is the opposite of the beach: it gets dark earlier under the trees than in the open. We plan portraits at the edge of the grove in the last 40 minutes, and we bring light for the reception, when the string lights take over.

At Acre we suggest a ceremony about 100 minutes before sunset, a little earlier than on the coast: around 3:55 pm in December and 5:25 pm in June.

Adding the Beach

Acre has no ocean view, and many couples want both looks. The simplest plan is a beach session on another day of the trip, at sunset in San José or at a calm bay on the Corridor, so the wedding day stays relaxed. Our Los Cabos engagement and elopement pages show the coastal side.

Planning and Vendors

Acre's events team works with independent planners and vendors. Ask early about the current rules for outside vendors, music curfews and the timeline for setup, and get them in writing. We coordinate directly with your planner and the venue, in English and Spanish.

Coverage and Prices

IVAE Studios publishes its prices. Half-day coverage of up to four hours is 1,800 to 2,800 USD, enough for the ceremony, family photos, portraits and the start of the reception. A full day of eight to ten hours with a second photographer is 3,500 to 5,500 USD, and adding a wedding film brings it to 5,500 to 8,000 USD. Every gallery is edited and delivered in a private 4K gallery within one to three business days.

We are based in Cancún and travel to Los Cabos for weddings; travel is arranged as part of the coverage, and we arrive with time to scout. Sessions before or after the wedding, such as a welcome-dinner portrait or a day-after shoot, use our collections from 245 USD.
