Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal sits on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas, reached through a private tunnel in the rock, with about 115 rooms that each have a private plunge pool and an ocean view. It is one of the few Los Cabos resorts where the sun sets straight into the Pacific. The surf is strong, so sessions stay on the sand and the terraces. Sessions start at 245 USD plus travel; wedding coverage starts at 1,800 USD.
You arrive at Pedregal through a tunnel in the mountain, and you come out facing the Pacific. That is the whole photographic idea of the place: big water, big rocks, and the sun going down directly in front of you. It is dramatic in a way the calmer Sea of Cortez resorts are not.

The Pacific Light
On the Sea of Cortez side of Los Cabos, the sun sets over land. At Pedregal, on the Pacific, it drops into the ocean,. The light is warmer and lower here than anywhere else in Los Cabos, and the surf adds spray and movement to the frame. The trade-off is safety: the beach has strong currents, so we photograph from the sand and the terraces, never in the water.
Where We Shoot
Your room's plunge pool and terrace, with the Pacific behind you, is the most private setting at the resort and perfect for couples. The beach in front of the resort gives wide sunset frames with the waves. The cliffside terraces and the rock formations of the coast add the drama Pedregal is known for. Weddings
The resort's wedding materials describe oceanfront terraces, a private beach, cliffside event decks and indoor spaces, and its guidelines note that beach ceremonies depend on weather and surf. A wedding planner is part of the process, and weddings come with minimum-stay rules. Plan a terrace backup for any beach ceremony, and confirm rules for outside vendors with the resort in writing.

Times for Pedregal on the 15th of each month in 2027. Baja California Sur keeps Pacific time all year (UTC-7, no daylight saving), the same as Alberta in winter.

For sessions we meet about an hour before sunset: around 4:35 pm in December and 6:05 pm in June. A ceremony 90 minutes before sunset lands around 4:05 pm in December and 5:35 pm in June.
