Waldorf Astoria Cancún is a small luxury resort of about 173 rooms just south of the airport. Wedding listings name the beach (about 120 for a ceremony), a Weddings Pavilion, the Waldorf Terrace and the Waldorf Ballroom, with venue fees that vary by space. It suits elegant weddings of up to about 220 guests.
Waldorf Astoria Cancún is the quiet luxury option close to the airport: fifteen minutes from arrivals, small enough to feel private and designed for elegant weddings. Our comparison with Le Blanc covers the choice between the two; this guide covers the photography of a Waldorf wedding.

Where the Ceremony Happens
Wedding listings name four spaces: the beach (about 120 for a ceremony), the Weddings Pavilion, the Waldorf Terrace and the Waldorf Ballroom (about 120 for a seated dinner). Each carries its own venue fee, so ask for current figures before choosing.
The beach gives the open Caribbean behind the couple. The pavilion adds shade and structure, and the terrace is the elegant, dry option for cocktails and a sunset step-out. A small resort also means short walks between sites, which keeps the timeline tight.

South of the airport the beach faces east onto the open Caribbean, so the sun rises over the sea and sets behind the resort, leaving the sand in soft, even light at the end of the day. A good rule here: start the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, and keep the final half hour of daylight for portraits.
Bringing Your Own Photographer
Expect Waldorf Astoria Cancún to charge outside wedding vendors for access. Resorts call it a vendor fee, an outside supplier fee or a day pass, and they revise it by season and wedding package, which is why we do not print a number here. The moment to negotiate it is before you sign your wedding package; afterwards coordinators have little room. Ask whether it is charged per vendor or per person, and get the answer by email. We handle the paperwork with your coordinator.
