Moon Palace Cancún hosts some of the largest weddings in the region. Wedding listings name the open Caribbean Beach, several gazebos including Bugambilias and Tucán (about 100 each), a chapel for about 60 seated, the Lake Terrace for receptions of up to about 300 and the Grand Salon for up to about 1,000.
Moon Palace is a city of a resort, and its weddings run at every scale, from a chapel ceremony for sixty to a ballroom of a thousand. We have already written about its outside photographer fee and family sessions; this guide is about the wedding day itself and how to keep the photography personal at a resort this big.

Where the Ceremony Happens
The Caribbean Beach is the open venue with no practical capacity limit, for ceremonies, cocktails and receptions. The gazebos, including Bugambilias and Tucán (listed for about 100 each), range from beachfront to garden settings. The chapel seats about 60 in wooden pews, with a chapel garden for cocktails.
For receptions, the Lake Terrace is the largest outdoor space, about 300 for cocktails, and the Grand Salon holds up to about 1,000. Our outside photographer fee guide, linked below, covers the access charge in detail.

South of the airport the beach faces east onto the open Caribbean, so the sun rises over the sea and sets behind the resort, leaving the sand in soft, even light at the end of the day. A good rule here: start the ceremony about 90 minutes before sunset, and keep the final half hour of daylight for portraits.
Bringing Your Own Photographer
Like most all-inclusive resorts on this coast, Moon Palace Cancún charges outside wedding photographers for access, either as a vendor fee or as a per-person day pass, and the amount changes by season and package. Ask for the exact figure in writing before you sign, and ask whether it applies per vendor or per person, because a photographer and a second shooter are two people. We send our insurance and identification paperwork to your coordinator ourselves. Our guide to outside photographers at resorts explains how these charges work.

The resort's access charge for outside vendors is separate and paid to the hotel. Your edited gallery arrives within one to three business days.
