Kempinski Hotel Cancún, the former Ritz-Carlton, has 363 oceanfront rooms, about 400 metres of private beach and event spaces that include a 1,000 square metre ballroom and a beachfront venue for up to about 700. It is one of the few Hotel Zone hotels where a large, formal wedding feels natural.
The former Ritz-Carlton has been Kempinski Hotel Cancún since 2022, and it remains the Hotel Zone's grand hotel: marble, chandeliers and a long private beach. Weddings here tend to be formal, and the photography should be too. Here is how we plan it.

Where the Ceremony Happens
The beach is the main outdoor venue, with about 400 metres of private sand and a beachfront space listed for up to about 700 guests. On this open-Caribbean stretch the sea is a deep, saturated blue, and the hotel's architecture gives a formal backdrop when we turn around.
The ballroom, about 1,000 square metres and divisible, is one of the largest in the Hotel Zone, and pool-side outdoor venues complete the options. Grand interiors are the hotel's other photographic strength: staircases, corridors and terraces that suit a classic, elegant gallery.

This stretch of the Hotel Zone faces east onto the open Caribbean, so the sun sets behind the resort and the beach falls into soft, even light at the end of the day; the sea can be lively here, with real surf on windy days. We plan ceremonies to start about 90 minutes before sunset, so that family photos and portraits fall in the warm last light.
Bringing Your Own Photographer
One budget line couples often miss: Kempinski Cancún, like nearly every all-inclusive resort here, charges outside wedding vendors for access to the property. It may be a fixed vendor fee or a per-person day pass, and it changes with the season and the package tier. Coverage and Prices
Our wedding prices are public. Up to four hours of coverage costs 1,800 to 2,800 USD; a full day of eight to ten hours with a second photographer is 3,500 to 5,500 USD; photography plus a wedding film is 5,500 to 8,000 USD. The resort's access charge for outside vendors is separate and paid to the hotel. Your edited gallery arrives within one to three business days.
