Anniversary Couples Photographer in Mexico
An intimate, unhurried session for the two of you, marking the years together at golden hour. Returning to the beach where you married, or somewhere new. No party, no guests, no audience, just the couple and the light.
Plan Your Anniversary SessionAn anniversary, marked by just the two of you
An anniversary is one of the few occasions that asks for nothing but the two of you. No bridal party, no dinner to host, no guests to greet, only the couple who chose each other and have kept choosing. The studio photographs that quiet milestone the way it deserves to be remembered: an hour or two on a Mexican beach at golden hour, the two of you walking, leaning in, laughing at something only you understand. It is the wedding, distilled to its essential pair, photographed years later.
Many of the couples we photograph come back to where it all began. They were married in Cancún, on the Riviera Maya, in Tulum or Los Cabos, and they return on a fifth, tenth or twenty-fifth anniversary to stand on the same sand. We plan the session at that exact resort or beach, time it to the same light, and let the new frames answer the wedding ones. Other couples want somewhere they have never been, a first visit to a coastline they have always meant to see, and the session becomes the reason to finally go. Either way the work is the same: intimate, editorial, and built to feel timeless rather than dated to the year it was made.
This is, deliberately, a couple-only session. If your anniversary is a gathering, with children and grandchildren flown in, a dinner and toasts, that is a celebration we love but cover differently on our anniversary party photographer in Cancún page. For engagement, honeymoon and proposal sessions, see our broader couples photography page. This page is for the version where it is simply the two of you and the camera.
- What this is
- A private anniversary session for the couple alone: an intimate, romantic, timeless portrait session at golden hour, with no guests.
- What it is not
- Not an anniversary party with guests, and not a vow-renewal ceremony. We photograph those, separately, and are glad to combine them on one trip.
- Where
- Cancún, Isla Mujeres, the Riviera Maya (Playa del Carmen, Mayakoba, Tulum) and Los Cabos. Return to where you married, or choose somewhere new.
- Direction
- Bilingual (English and Spanish), movement-led posing for couples who have not faced a camera together since the wedding.
Anniversary settings across Mexico
Where You Married
The single most requested anniversary session: back to the resort, terrace or stretch of beach where you said your vows. We coordinate access and stand you in the same spot, years on, in the same light.
Cancún Hotel Zone
Playa Delfines and the long white-sand beaches of the Hotel Zone, with the turquoise water that drew so many couples here to marry in the first place. Easy to reach from any Cancún resort.
Riviera Maya & Tulum
The quieter coast south of Cancún: the lagoons of Mayakoba, the soft light of Playa del Carmen, and the wild, low-rise beaches of Tulum for couples who want somewhere unmarked.
Los Cabos
The Pacific side, where the desert meets the sea. Dramatic rock, deep gold light and bigger sunsets in Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, for a different feel from the Caribbean.
Cenotes & Jungle
For couples who want something rare, the Riviera Maya cenotes offer cathedral light over still water. An editorial, almost private setting for an anniversary that wants to feel unlike anyone else's.
Signature Resorts
We photograph regularly at Rosewood Mayakoba, Le Blanc Spa Resort and Hyatt Ziva Cancún, and know their light and quiet corners well.
How an anniversary session moves
Golden hour, the heart of it
The last 75 to 90 minutes before sunset, roughly 5:00 to 7:00 PM depending on the month, carry the warm, forgiving light that suits two people who have been together a long time. We build the whole session around that window.
Sunrise, for the empty beach
A sunrise session, around 5:30 to 7:00 AM, gives you a deserted shoreline and the stillest light of the day. For couples who married at sunrise, we time it to match, so the photographs rhyme with the originals.
Unhurried, by design
There is no run of show, no guests waiting, no schedule but the sun. The session is paced like a slow evening walk. That ease is what lets two people who feel shy at the start forget the camera is there by the end.
Movement, not poses
We direct with movement, walking, a slow dance in the shallows, a whispered word, rather than static poses. The bilingual direction guides every micro-adjustment so neither of you has to think about where to put your hands.

Planning your anniversary session
Is an anniversary couples session just the two of us?
Yes. This session is built for the two of you and no one else: an hour or two of unhurried, romantic portraits at golden hour, no guests, no run of show, no audience. If your celebration involves children, grandchildren or friends who have travelled in, that is an anniversary party, and we cover it differently on our anniversary party page. This page is the couple-only session, intimate and quiet by design.
Can we return to the resort or beach where we married?
It is one of our favourite anniversary sessions to photograph. If you married in Cancún, the Riviera Maya, Tulum, Mayakoba or Los Cabos, we plan the session at that same beach, terrace or resort, often in the spot where you said your vows years before, and time it to the same light so the new frames answer the older ones.
How is this different from an anniversary party?
An anniversary couples session is the two of you alone, on the sand or terrace at golden hour. An anniversary party is the whole celebration: the dinner, the toasts, the children and grandchildren who flew in, the dancing. If you want only the two of you, this page is the right home. If there are guests, our anniversary party page in Cancún is built for that.
Is this the same as a vow renewal?
Not quite. A vow renewal centres on a ceremony, with words exchanged again, sometimes an officiant, often a few witnesses. An anniversary couples session has no ceremony; it is simply a romantic portrait session marking the years. Some couples do a quiet renewal at golden hour and then a session as one continuous evening, and we are glad to photograph both. For ceremonies and larger gatherings, see our event photography page.
Where in Mexico do you photograph anniversary sessions?
Across the Cancún Hotel Zone, Isla Mujeres, the Riviera Maya south through Mayakoba and Tulum, and the Pacific in Los Cabos. We work regularly at Rosewood Mayakoba, Le Blanc Spa Resort and Hyatt Ziva Cancún, and at quieter beaches and cenotes when you want somewhere private.
What is the best time of day for an anniversary photoshoot?
Golden hour, the last 75 to 90 minutes before sunset, roughly 5:00 to 7:00 PM depending on the month, gives the warm, soft Caribbean and Pacific light that suits an anniversary session. Sunrise, around 5:30 to 7:00 AM, is equally flattering and gives you an empty beach and the stillest light of the day; for couples who married at sunrise, we time the session to match.
We are shy in front of a camera. Will it feel natural?
Most couples we photograph have not faced a camera together since the wedding, and the direction is built for exactly that. We start with movement rather than poses, walking, a slow dance, a whispered word, so it feels like a private evening. The studio directs in English and Spanish, so neither of you has to think about where to put your hands.
Which anniversaries do couples usually book a session for?
Any of them. Tenth, twenty-fifth and fiftieth anniversaries are the most common, but we also photograph first and fifth anniversaries, the year a couple finally returns to their honeymoon coast, and milestones with no round number at all. The session marks the time you have spent together, whatever the figure on the card.
How far in advance should we book an anniversary session?
For the high season from November through April, and the winter holidays, reach out as soon as your travel dates are set, ideally several weeks ahead, because golden-hour slots fill first. Shorter notice is sometimes possible, especially for weekday sunrises. Send us your dates and the coastline, and the studio replies the same business day.
Mark the years, just the two of you
Tell us your anniversary, your travel dates and the coastline, whether you are returning to where you married or choosing somewhere new. The studio replies the same business day with golden-hour availability and a planning conversation. Bilingual, editorial, gallery delivered in 1 to 3 days.
