Solymar is a beach resort in the southern Hotel Zone, near Punta Nizuc. For a session, start about an hour before sunset at the water's edge, or at sunrise if you have young children. Sessions start at 245 USD.
A good session does not need a big resort, just the right hour and the right stretch of water. Here is our plan for guests of Solymar Cancún.

Where We Shoot
The beach in front of Solymar Cancún. We start at the water's edge, away from loungers and pools, where the background is only sea and sky.
A second setting nearby. Playa Delfines, the big public beach with the CANCÚN sign and high dunes, is close by for a second setting, and the El Rey archaeological site sits across the road from it.
The Light, Month by Month
Times for this part of the coast on the 15th of each month in 2027. Quintana Roo keeps the same clock all year.

|---|---|---|---|
| January | 7:27 am | 5:54 pm | 6:26 pm |
| March | 6:56 am | 6:27 pm | 6:57 pm |
| May | 6:09 am | 6:47 pm | 7:18 pm |
| June | 6:05 am | 6:58 pm | 7:30 pm |
| July | 6:14 am | 7:00 pm | 7:32 pm |
| September | 6:34 am | 6:21 pm | 6:50 pm |
| November | 6:57 am | 5:34 pm | 6:06 pm |
| December | 7:16 am | 5:35 pm | 6:08 pm |
The beach faces east, so evenings bring soft, even light on wide sand and sunrise lifts straight out of the sea.
Where We Meet You
We meet you at the lobby of Solymar Cancún. If the hotel's own beach is busy, we walk to the nearest public access: beaches in Mexico are public, so no pass is needed for the sand itself. For sessions on resort grounds, the photographer comes in as your guest, with the name given to the front desk in advance.
Sessions in the Cancún Hotel Zone, Through Our Lens
Real IVAE Studios sessions on the beaches of the Cancún Hotel Zone. They show our work in the area, not necessarily at Solymar Cancún.
