A Families and Couples Photoshoot at Occidental Tucancún: Spots, Times and Prices

Occidental Tucancún is on the central stretch of the Hotel Zone, on the open Caribbean. Here is how we plan a session there, from the first frame on the property to the last light on the sand.

Where We Shoot

The beach. Wide sand for children to run, best at sunrise or the last light.

The water's edge. We always finish at the shoreline, away from the pools and loungers, where the background is only sea and sky.

Nearby. Public beaches along this stretch, such as Playa Marlin and Playa Ballenas, offer wide sand if you want a second setting.

Sunrise or Sunset

Times for this beach on the 15th of each month in 2027.

The beach faces east: the hour before sunset gives soft, even light, and sunrise lifts straight out of the sea. For a sunset over water, the Nichupté lagoon is just across the boulevard.

How the Photographer Gets In

How does the photographer get in? As your guest. Tell the Occidental Tucancún front desk our name and the time of the session in advance, and we check in at the lobby like anyone meeting you for dinner. A short private session for a staying guest is very seldom charged the outside vendor fee used for weddings, and we confirm the current policy with the resort in writing. Non-guests should plan for a day pass, as our access guide explains.
