Not everyone in Cancún stays at a big resort. Residences, condos and guesthouses are common, and the good news is that Mexico's beaches are public. Here is how we plan a session for their guests.

Where We Shoot

The calm north shore. Playa Langosta and Playa Tortugas, on the Bahía de Mujeres, have shallow, calm water, good for children.

The open Caribbean. Playa Delfines, with its dunes and CANCÚN sign, is the big public beach of the south Hotel Zone.

The lagoon at sunset. The Nichupté lagoon is where Cancún's sunset happens over water.

The Light, Month by Month

Times for this part of the coast on the 15th of each month in 2027. Quintana Roo keeps the same clock all year.

On the Caribbean side, sunrise lifts out of the sea; the lagoon is the place for the sunset over water.

Where We Meet You

We meet you at a public beach access close to where you stay. Beaches in Mexico are public, so no pass is needed.
